CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK

DAY TOURS

ONE-DAY TOUR – LA LEONA

Puerto Jiménez – Carate – La Leona – Carate – Puerto Jiménez

One Day Tour in La Leona offers a relatively easy hike, a great variety of animal life and the cheapest transportation (compared to other park entrances). The only one trail goes from Carate to Sirena, following the shore line between the sandy beach and the secondary rain forest. You won’t reach Sirena taking only a one day tour. The way back is on the same trail as the way in. The number of kilometers that will be travelled during this hiking day is variable depending on the animals that will be seen, you interest in getting information about the fauna and flora, your walking speed, the guide accompanying you and the weather condition to travel back to Puerto Jiménez in the afternoon. Normally, the hike lasts about 6 hours plus some time resting and having lunch.

La Leona Ranger Station provides:

ONE-DAY TOUR – SIRENA

Puerto Jiménez– Sirena – Puerto Jiménez

One Day Tour in Sirena is the opportunity to be surrounded by the greatest wildlife diversity of Corcovado. Dropped in the park by boat, wander the rainforest trails chasing some of the most novel species of a borderless animal kingdom. There is so much to see that one day is definitively not enough to cover all the trails in a single day. Sirena is the station where the possibility of seeing the endangered and impressive tapir is the highest. It is also the only station where food is provided. This tour includes a box lunch that will be served fresh in the installation. Due to the boat schedule, the time is limited in the park to about a 3.5-hour hike. It is the perfect option for families with kids as all trails are flat and around the station.

PARK RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • You must be accompanied by a certified guide to visit Corcovado National Park.
  • You must have a prepaid reservation (we take care of it as part of the booking process).
  • Respect the environment: trash in / trash out; no animal feeding or hunting; smoking or entering the park with any drug or liquor is prohibited.
  • Traveling off trails or without your guide is prohibited.
  • Bringing pets or horseback riding inside the National Park is prohibited.
  • Swimming in the sea inside the park is prohibited.
  • Night tours are not allowed in the Corcovado National Park. Open hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Launching, landing, or operating an unmanned aircraft (drones) over lands and waters without a previous authorization is prohibited. Additional fees apply for commercial purposes.

EXTRAS FOR THE TOURS

Swarovski telescopic equipment with the best quality in optics.

Information on digital flora and fauna to answer questions with audiovisual material.

At the end of each activity, a shared album on Google Photos or Google Drive with quality photos and videos for the colleague, tour operator or tourism agency.

On special occasions will provide: hammocks, spotlights, binoculars and containers for tours that include take-out breakfast – this with prior coordination.

Can provide bottles of water in case the client does not have one – this is with prior coordination.

It is worth mentioning that $15 USD from each overnight tour will be allocated to funds for Environmental Education, Bio-Literacy of the Osa Peninsula, Guide Association, garbage collection programs in Corcovado and beaches of the Osa Peninsula.

The telescope supplied at the discretion of the owner according to the weather and other conditions that may affect the device.
