Golfo Dulce is the only known location on Earth where the migration paths of whales from both the northern and southern hemispheres overlap, providing a vital sanctuary where mothers birth and nurse their young. In addition to witnessing this extraordinary natural event, you may also encounter majestic whale sharks, resident dolphins, and over 25 species of whales that either migrate through or reside permanently in these rich, biodiverse waters.

Embark on a breathtaking boat tour through the serene waters of the Golfo Dulce, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica. Known as one of the most biologically intense regions in the world, this pristine gulf is a hidden gem and tropical fjord, teeming with marine life and surrounded by lush rainforest. As you glide across its tranquil waters, you’ll have the chance to spot playful dolphins, majestic whales (seasonally), and a variety of tropical birds.

Enjoy the sunset over the Osa Peninsula from the Golfo Dulce and enjoy a swim in her warm waters. The bioluminescence in the Golfo Dulce is largely attributed to a type of bioluminescent plankton known as dinoflagellates. These microscopic organisms possess the remarkable ability to emit light when disturbed. When they are agitated by movement in the water, they produce a burst of blue-green light that transforms the surrounding environment into a magical, ethereal scene.
