THE MAGICAL MOGOS WATERFALLS, OSA PENINSULA

THE LARGEST WATERFALLS ON THE OSA

Magical Mogos Waterfalls Osa Peninsula

THE EXPERIENCE

WELCOME TO THE WILDERNESS

The Magical Mogos Waterfalls is in the biological corridors that connect the three most important wildlands in the Osa Peninsula: Corcovado National Park, Piedras Blancas National Park and the Terraba-Sierpe National Wetlands.

The immense biological corridor that surrounds the Golfo Dulce protects an incredible variety of wildlife.

The Magical Mogos Waterfalls are opening Dec 15th, 2022. These naturally spring fed waterfalls offer an experience that is unique on the Osa Peninsula. Even in the dryest months here, you can play in the refreshing waterfalls and natural rainforest pools as the fresh water cascades down the upper rock face, a bare vertical surface of natural rock.

When entering the base of the falls, there are towering rainforest trees with sun rays peaking through the canopy reflecting off immense falls. An unexpected iridescent blue morpho will almost always be seen fluttering through on the edge of the mist. While swimming or just standing in the waterfalls’ pools, it is impossible not to feel the life-giving power to all she touches. This unique tour is truly a life-enhancing experience.

Nature has created a magical experience that will transport you to a simpler time.

OUR BIOLOGICAL CORRIDOR

This rainforest neighborhood is off the main road, that runs from Chacarita to Puerto Jimenez, and is surrounded by primary rainforest.

This corridor between Corcovado National Park and Piedras Blancas National Park includes forest and mangrove habitat essential to many migratory birds and other wildlife. The region is considered to be one of the best bird-watching locations in Costa Rica, with close to 400 species recorded, including Scarlet Macaws, toucans and parrots. The birding is unique from bottom to top as various ecosystems come together on the property so that there is a mix of birds from distincted habitats.

Owner Jana Schulz, aka ‘Jana of the Jungle’ first visited these falls in 1996 and purchased the property in 2005. Over the years, she has hosted many local and foreign friends at the waterfalls and every visitor is astonished by this unique experience. Jana decided, with all this positive feedback, to come out of retirement and share the Magical Mogos Waterfalls with the public.
