CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK

If you’re starting from Puerto Jiménez, you can hike into the park from one of three ranger stations: La Leona, Los Patos, or Dos Brazos, each with its own level of difficulty. Alternatively, you can boat in and out to Sirena Station.

From Drake Bay, the only access is by boat to Sirena Station.

RIO PIRO PRIVATE RESERVE

Rio Piro is mostly utilized as a site for biological studies and conservation projects, which offers an escape from the crowds of hikers heading into the national park.

With an elaborate trail network and abundant wildlife, the Piro Reserve houses some of the largest and oldest tree specimens on the Osa Peninsula. Plus, large populations of endangered animals populate the secluded area.

There’s no shortage of hiking on the Osa Peninsula, but these are the trails travelers love most.

Hiking here gives a whole new meaning to a “walk in the park.”
